How is it made?

Beta Alanine is made naturally in the body, and is also found organically in our diet. Mainly sourced from red meat, specifically pork and beef, it can often be difficult to obtain enough beta alanine in a modern day to day diet.
Reflex Nutrition’s Beta Alanine is a pure form of the amino acid, providing more than the average daily meat intake would usually deliver, and is also a vegetarian product, offering more versatility to those following a particular diet.

The science behind it

Beta Alanine’s role is to promote high intramuscular concentrations of carnosine, a small molecule composed of the amino acids histidine and alanine. Carnosine acts as a buffering agent, helping maintain an optimal muscle pH range, thus delaying the onset of muscular failure.
Carnosine is a bond of beta alanine and histidine which is highly concentrated in muscle and brain tissue. During high intensity exercise, lactate acid and hydrogen ions are produced which cause a drop in pH in the working muscle (the burn). Carnosine is pH buffer allowing normal working pH to be sustained for longer, allowing intensity to be sustained for longer. Beta Alanine is required for this to function correctly.

This product may produce a mild tingling sensation in the face and upper torso, this is normal and is associated with beta alanine consumption and can last up to 30 minutes. Consult a medial practitioner if the sensation continues for longer, or other undesired effects are encountered.
